Safety
monitoring, rehabilitation and heightening of
existing dams constitute some of the projects
assigned to MG. An outstanding project of this
kind is the rehabilation of Sefidrud Buttress
Concrete Dam which had been damaged in 1990
Rudbar-Manjil earthquake (MS 7.2 in Richter
scale). A unique example of this kind is the
re-design of the spillway of Shahid Abbaspour
(Karun1) concrete arch dam which was destroyed
due to cavitation induced during operation.
